Why your site gets visits but not customers

The problem is rarely traffic volume. It is usually the first five seconds after someone lands.

If you are paying for ads and the visits arrive but the enquiries do not, the problem is not the ad. It is the page the ad points at.

Four recurring causes

  • A visitor cannot tell what you do on the first screen. If they must scroll to understand, you are already late.
  • There is no obvious next step. A page without one clear call to action lets the visitor decide to leave.
  • The site is slow on mobile. Every second of delay eats enquiries.
  • There is no proof. Claims about quality with no real work or names read as advertising, not evidence.
A quick test: open your site on the phone of someone who has never seen it, give them five seconds, then take it away. If they cannot say what you do, you have a conversion problem, not a traffic problem.
