Colour in branding: why one shade builds more trust than another
Banks lean blue, restaurants lean red and orange — and that is no coincidence. Colour sends a signal before anyone reads a word.
Before a customer reads your name or understands what you sell, their eye has already taken an impression from colour. That is not a conscious decision — it is a fast reaction built on years of association between certain hues and certain feelings.
Common associations (not fixed rules)
- Blue: trust, stability — common among banks and large corporations.
- Red and orange: energy and appetite — common in food and restaurants.
- Green: natural, healthy — common in organic and wellness products.
- Black and gold: luxury — common among premium brands.
These are not rigid rules — they are general tendencies. What matters most is that the colour you choose fits your brand personality, not simply that you personally like it.
The colour you choose for your logo speaks before you say a word.
