How to tell your logo isn't working digitally
A logo that looked great on a business card ten years ago can vanish completely as a square or circular profile picture. Have you tested it?
Many logos were designed years ago for print alone — a business card, a sign, an invoice. The same logo can be failing entirely as a digital asset without anyone noticing.
Quick tests
- Open your page and look at the logo as a profile picture — clear, or cropped at the edges?
- Shrink it to app-icon size — still legible, or just a blur?
- Test it on a dark background and a light one — does it work on both?
The fix
The fix is not always an entirely new logo — sometimes a simplified icon mark, drawn from the same logo but built specifically for small uses, is enough.
Open your page right now — is your logo clear as an avatar, or cropped at the edges?
