When you need a simple refresh instead of a full rebrand
Not every identity problem needs a fresh start. Sometimes what you need is a tidy-up — and the cost difference is significant.
"Rebranding" is a big word that intimidates a lot of business owners, but not every identity problem needs to start from zero.
When a refresh is enough
- The logo itself is strong, but the colours or fonts around it are inconsistent.
- You have good identity elements, just scattered, and they need pulling into one system.
- The name and positioning still hold, but the visual execution looks dated.
When a full rebrand is necessary
- The business itself changed fundamentally — services, audience, market.
- The logo itself is not working: too complex, unclear, or confused with a competitor.
- There is no system to build on at all, only scattered pieces.
One weak sign means you need a refresh. Three or more means the problem is structural.
